COMPONENT 3: Essay (1 h 30 mins) (40 marks)
Five topics, selected from the topic headings listed in section 4, will be published annually in the syllabus. A question will be set on each of the five topics from which the candidate will choose one and write an essay in French of 250-400 words. Of the 40 marks available, 24 will be for the quality of the language and 16 for the content.
